Long ago, a society was created to protect immortal creatures. This society was elusive and unknown.
Daren and Loraine Grey were members of the society until they died when their daughter, LaVinnia Grey, was only three years old. Daren and Loraine left their daughter with their closest friends, and members of the society, Terrence and Belinda Miller.
LaVinnia was under constant watch, being driven to school by Mr. Burgeson, and being picked up right after. She never even had time for her friends. But, once she turned fifteen, LaVinnia was granted to do whatever she wanted without being watched over. Terrence and Belinda thought of her as responsible. But, even with freedom, Vinnie would still have to be driven around by Mr. Burgeson. From afar, though, the society is keeping a close eye on Vinnie. Why? Vinnie is supernaturally gifted, and people plotting against the cryptic society plan to kill her first.
When Vinnie gets her first premonition about danger, in walks Garret Isaacs.
Garret is a charming and mysterious young man with a secret. He is a vampire and was sent far from his Romanian home to protect the innocent Vinnie. Garret's family has known about the society and they chose Garret to go and visit with the society for approval to protect Vinnie.
When the society agrees, Vinnie disagrees. She doesn't want another babysitter. But, one night will change all that when they get stuck in an elevator together.
