I later found out she was fired because she called a customer's children heathens. Not to the customer, of course, but to another server who then ratted her out. And I don't know if she ever got her pan back.
I heard a song that reminded me of this moment today, and I started to cry.
This isn't very good, but mostly because I wrote it off the top of my head. One of these days, when I'm calmer about it, I'll try to do the moment justice.
