The Elusive Escape into Enlightenment: An Introduction

He is slowly reaching enlightenment and leaving you in the metaphysical dust. He doesn’t know when it will happen, but as time moves forward, he cares less and less. After all, eternity will always be there, and once he gets there, it will be immaterial how long the journey took. He pities the rest of the world; too busy wasting their time by giving their lives to the system to understand how beautiful the world around them is. He cares not for his standard of living or any of the creature comforts of modern life. He goes where he wants and sleeps where he pleases. He is always kind to everyone he meets but if you are paying attention close enough, you can hear the disinterest in his voice. He cares not for your worldly pleasures; he has more important things to experience. However, he was not always on this quest to enlightenment, he used to play the game like everybody else; he just grew tired of it. But this story starts way back when he was still a part of the machine, struggling to be a functional gear in the great engine of destruction we like to call civilization.

He was fourteen, a rebellious youth who cared little for life and even less for authority. Somehow he had mixed himself in with a much older crowd, whom he blended in with because he was so tall. His extreme antics and loud mouth were amusing to these older kids, whom were surprised at his age when they finally learned it. Once they did learn how young he was, they took it upon themselves to corrupt him. So one night they drove to a local park and were hanging out in the woods, smoking, carrying on, and doing all sorts of rebellious teenage things, when one of the older kids pulls a small strip of paper out of his pocket. Two little squares were torn off and handed over to our slightly confused protagonist. When he asked the older kid what it was, the reply was, “Acid dude… Just take them; they will rock your world.â€
