Ode to Chronotrigger

untitled

I shouldn't post this poem because it will reveal how much of a nerd I am. But I am doing it anyway.

This poem is about Chronotrigger, a RPG for the SNES, and my favorite video game... I like this game sooooooooo much that I made a costume of the main character, Crono... Picture of him can be found here [en.wikipedia.org]... I wore this costume to school on Halloween one year and nobody knew who I was... This angered me, so I wrote a poem detailing how awesome this game was...

If you have never heard of Chronotrigger, you can check the Wikipedia article on it here [en.wikipedia.org], but read the poem first... =)

Ode to Chronotrigger

Chronotrigger, Oh, Chronotrigger, you rock my socks

Better than any game that will ever come out on X-Box

Traveling through time, and saving the earth

From the desolate future back to Lavos’ birth

It is definitely the best RPG ever made

A million times better than my humble accolade

The plot is amazing, the characters great

And Crono, our hero, is simply first rate

With a simple blue gi and amazing spiky hair

He will kick your ass with his impressive luminaire

He wields a katana, and his lightning techs rule

Don’t even try to beat him; you’ll look like a fool

His journey starts with an experiment gone wrong

Throwing Crono to a time where he doesn’t belong

Back to the medieval times of castles and war

Saving the princess and stopping Magus’ horde

Then it’s off to the future, where civilization is dying

Robots rule all and the humans quit trying

The people are starving and really need food

Which Crono finds ‘cause he’s a really cool dude

Then it is off to the prehistoric age

Where he first gets a glimpse of Lavos’ rage

Lavos crashes into the earth and burrows to the core

This explosion causes the extinction of the dinosaurs

This just so happens at around 65 million BC

The coincidences in this game are startling and really trippy

But the entire plot would take to long to explain

It gets really deep and the twists are insane

But in order to shorten it and give you the jist

I have been cool enough to compile a small list

Noble self-sacrifice, a talking frog, a cross-dressing goon

A rigged trial, a Crono clone, and the powerful MasaMune

Robot love, the BLACK OMEN, hover-drag-racing

Mother Brain, the Epoch, brainwashing and mind erasing

I’m sorry if I’m boring you with my incessant prattle

But in this game are the most amazing battles

With double-techs galore, and triple-techs deal more

The Super Nintendo’s charm only adds to this games allure

Yet hardly anyone has heard of this modern gamer’s epic

They only play sports and fighting games that are pure septic

People think I am Robin Hood, a Jedi or Link

Their total ignorance almost pushes me over the brink

The fact that people don’t know this game is an intellectual crime

Whatever… I’ll calm down by beating it again… for the 43rd time

Four others like this.

... +1 for being awesome? I dunno, I used to embrace this stuff, it's still neat, though.

I guess I was a hardcore nerd but, one day I just stopped, I dunno. I still like some video games ect. but, I just don't get all crazy over it anymore.

This is still an awesome piece though.

Very clever. Indeed, a great game, but I never got much further than the destroyed future part. Also, not all fighting games are bad [Guilty Gear kicks ass beyond imagining]. Definitely deserving of a plus one, at least for gaming spirit.
the best i've ever done on a game is completing kingdom hearts so kudos! +1
