Here is my heart

untitled
A stomping stupid elephant
A stalking, squawking ostritch
For dancing chains of monkeys
For blushing, flushed flamingos.
Here are my eyes
Why can't I stop watching you?
A snake; you shed your scales of war.
A lamb -you shave my comfort
And we are left outside the law
Bare skin so gallantly devoured
Bite it!
Bruise it!
Suck it like fruit
Far from ripe though sickly sweet.
Drink it!
Peel it!
Pull from the root.
Our cruel wrath is love discrete.
Here are my arms
Blanketing you
As crisp and tired leaves of the evergreen.
For if love can strip the strongest bark
Our love can destroy everything.
Two others like this.

i love saying "for blushing, flushed flamingos." great assonance and alliteration in that line. i enjoyed reading this one, macca. :)
this is rich. and luscious. and mindcandyish. there's rhythm, excellent word choice and a certain kick to the last five lines that feels almost like attitude.
well done.
