Who wanted green in her hair.

untitled
Black and white or blunt and awful
Tug the teal sky,
Turn it brighter!
Stripped and teased then calm and lawful
Scuff your boots
and shine,
street fighter!
Bare and young yet caught, still thoughtful
Let us play
The game we play.
“Lose, lose!” Her lipstick blinds
A game you’ve lost, I think you’ll find.
Lipstick laughs, a purple line
To cake and tack and please your mind.
Vain and old and tired, but thoughtful,
Pull your waist in,
Worn and slighter
Try to make our problems yours.
Our smiles do jade
But yours look tighter.

i love the rhyme scheme and concept. you really pulled this off. fun to read and you've definitely made a point of mediocrity. makes me think of an old woman and her strained relationship with maybe a lover or family member.
