individuality is a crime.

Sometimes I think that the world is just a superficial mockery of the people that live in it. Why should anybody give a flange how I did in my GSCEs or what college I have or haven’t graduated from, things like achievements and even the whole principle of school should be, and is to a certain extent, completely unnecessary. We all get oppressed by our authorities and what for? So we can bugger off into the real world and do it to other people. Sure, maybe qualifications keep society going, but I think the whole idea of other people being better than you and the constant urge to be superior to others is just another way to be able to judge everyone without having to admit that’s what you are doing. People develop problems, insecurities because of this obsessive judging everyone carries out in their day to day lives, only for people to go to some other prissy ‘intelligent’ person to ask for their opinion, and pay them hundreds of pound an hour for them to ask ‘...and how do you feel about that’. To be honest, I don’t need to pay anyone to dress up in a pretty outfit to understand why I don’t like to eat in public places. So why do we all have to be better, or even have to be good enough to simply do whatever the hell we want to do in out lives? Because it’s competition, everything is. I don’t understand. It just gets to me because I know I am going to go straight into my modules tomorrow and try as hard as I can, to get a good grade, to get good qualifications, to gain good status, to get a job, to get far in life, to judge other people and be forgotten as soon as I am dead. I think it is important to have opinions, and sure, I said I didn’t like that dress that hideous girl was wearing yesterday, but that isn’t what I am talking about. Everyone thing is so skin deep in modern day society, you get people denying others of a job because their hair is too long, or their feet too hairy, I can understand the foot thing if you go in for a foot model, but why would you d that with hairy feet anyway? The point is, is that by giving kids uniforms in school and by everyone constantly manipulating other people into stereotypical groups it is just more ways to judge people. It seems like every time I buy a new item of clothing or somethin to express my individuality I get called a new name. Yesterday, I was emo, today I am a hippy because some guy saw my ‘peace flag’ down the street. But what do the terms hippy and emo and chav mean anyway? People have used them so much that the words ‘skanky smelly jitter lesbian face’ has became the same thing as someone shouting Rosy, my name. I am not even a lesbian, but oh, I’m sorry, if I have pink hippos on my bag, it seems I have to be fannying about with girls on the side. And the internet, we all seem to be slaves to our msn’s, myspaces and bebos, when we spend hours on it talking to nobody we wouldn’t in real life anyway and we don’t really have fun or gain anything except creating out ideal persona online and live exciting alter-ego’s that we wish we were, if we weren’t crushed by society. Also, I don’t like peas.
