chemical reactions and frame works
untitled
What more are human emotions than nerve impulses?
Its science that’s all. There’s nothing more too it. The brain is made up of thousands of different nerve endings and chemicals, so emotions are just chemical reactions.
That’s all there is too it
There is no such this as affection, love, hate, desire, lust, loneliness, apathy. It’s all in your head, literally.
As humans we are brought up within a frame work, you are born, you are educated, you get a job, you marry, you procreate, and you die.
Millions of people live their lives in this frame work, why?
This is what human beings have become, chemical reactions and frame works.
Surely we are something more, surely there is something more than this, than waiting for the next emotion or stage in our lives. You see the robots every day, with there black suits and smart hand luggage, they sit at a desk and watch the figures mount, pop a pill, control the pressure.
After all we’re all going to end up the same, in the ground, so you might think, what’s the point? What’s the point in trying to break free from it all?
Even the robots must ask themselves this once in a while.
I guess we’re all looking for the happy ending, the Hollywood finish were the guy gets the girl and the credits roll. Can anyone honestly say they’ve found it?
So what does this mean for you and me? Are we destined to live our lives looking forward to climbing the next rung of the ladder, looking for the perfect person to grow old with?
Or shall we fight against the tide and swim against the impossible stream clinging to the last threads of an idea that we once read somewhere.
I guess the answer is do, whatever makes you happy.
Or is it, do whatever stimulates your nerve endings.

Check out the movie/documentary "What the Bleep Do We Know" it goes into the science behind the bodies dependence on certain chemicals, especially the ones for the feelings of love and happiness... really good stuff...
i love the simplicity and quizzical nature of this piece... +1
Thinking and acting on these exact thoughts are what make people think I'm crazy (and why I will be leaving for a month).
I'm going to A* this, just because I like the thoughts expressed and the way it is written. You write in a distinct way bowers, a very good way.
i don't want to get married, i don't want to have children, i am educated because i enjoy learning, i do not want to love.
i think i might have problems though.
