The Stitchman
untitled
What are they doing here?
I didn't invite them here. I don't know why the guards keep opening the doors to them. These mindless peons... Do they even know that this is my domain? Do they even know I'm here. Do they know who I am? What are they doing here!? I want them gone right now! Why are the guards not stopping this!? This is my entertainment! Not yours!
Wait. Wait, no. No, this isn't right. No, what did this? Guards? What?
Who are these people?
Something's happened. I always forget that. I'm no longer completely myself, and I rarely ever realise that anymore. Something's been broken. I've been broken.
But these people... They scare me. I can't consentrate with them here. They need to leave. Guards, get rid of them! Get rid of them, I say!!
Who are these people?
I'll get rid of them myself, then... You there! Get the fuck out of here! Who invited you!? You think this is your place, your hangout? Think you can just bust into someone's place and dance in their living space? Huh!? No, what the fuck are YOU doing!?
I want you out! I want ALL of you out! Get the fuck out of here right now!!
That's right! Fuckin' run! Yeah, it's loaded and I've forgotten how to put the safety on! Yes, let's give the floor a new coat of paint, shall we!? Oh yes, that's a nice color red!
Blends well with the screaming.
What? Let go of me! I told you to get rid of them, but you just stood there! What kind of guards are you? Let me go, I said! Where are you taking me!?!
What's happened to me? I'm not my own anymore. Someone's broken me, someone's taken me. What have I maintained? I need to fix this. Can I fix this. Yes, I can fix this. They told me.
They told me to find the Stitchman.
The Stitchman Will Make Me Whole Again.

I thought for sure it was ghost at first. But I can't say I ended the peice thinking that anymore.
+1
Wow, that was hectic. It was like being in the mind of someone who doesn't realise their insanity--very entertaining but kind of unsettling. The character has absolutely no control over the situation (much like the reader!) and the emphasis on that is great. It definitely establishes a sense of urgency.
Intense piece, man.
"Yeah, it's loaded and I've forgotten how to put the safety on!" + "Blends well with the screaming" = my fav lines
