Planet of Lies

I heard the concrete walls shuddering./ Looking up, I saw them rise./ Held up by the planet, you all knew yourselves,/ oh, aptly named Planet of Lies.

I heard your age-old littany/ looming 'round under the trees./ Feel the noise, push all the sound from your being/ while I sit and hope I don't freeze.

My old guard hounds have gone missing./ Oh truthly does dog have a soul?/ I told them of heaven. They couldn't wait to see./ Perhaps that's why Satan can't kill me, won't kill me.

Oh, I heard the concrete walls shuddering./ Looking up, I saw them rise./ Held up by the planet, you all knew yourselves,/ oh, aptly named Planet of Lies.

Maneuvered by satellites, sunken in ships, everything's watching me [nobody's watching me.]

Maneuvered by satellites, sunken in ships, everything's watching me [Nohb'dy's watching me!]

The radio broadcast, it told me of dreams,/ of the nightmares, of heaven, of you and of me [YES ME!]/ Celephane gods have surrounded us./ Look at them, think of them, catch their disease.

Look at them, think of them, feel the world orbit them.

Doubtless, we fell from the morning sky./ Black and blue we hit the ground./ Look up past the powerlines, note the twilight,/ and blink as you hear the world howl.

I like this also. I'm generally bad at fathoming the meaning of lyrics (this is lyrics right? It's a first here :)), but I like the language. Is it in audio form?

Not yet. Perhaps it will be soon, though. Me and a couple friends of mine are trying to start up a sort of musical project. I hope it takes off, too, 'cuz I've already got a melody and chord progressions in my head.

As far as meaning, it really wasn't planned. In the end, it seems like it's sorta religious themes and questioning their relevence to today's society.

Really, you can analyze it how you want. My sophomore english teacher in highschool taught me that once the piece leaves the artist's hands, the meaning is open to anyone's imagination.

I like it. I normally write long and boring and detailed critique, but I just plain like this.

You definitely have a knack for lyrics. I'm better at writing melodies and instrumentation, so lyrics are a new form of creative expression for me.

I dig your stuff. Post more.
