A Piece About War
untitled
This was once a piece about war. It told of arduous struggles, political intrigue, brave heroes and the dearly departed. Borders between factions, territories, morals, right and wrong, and good and evil were blurred beyond recognition. In the end, nothing was resolved. No one side gained a victory, or really a loss. Many people died, others wished they had as well. Before any semblance of peace could flourish, alliances were deemed broken and new wars began, involving the same factions, just with different names. New virtues were donned, politicians roared of justice and the ridding of evil, patriotism spread throughout the hearts of millions and the earth was sundered. Once peaceful nations were forced to defend themselves against new threats, quickly realized their own growing strength, then utilized it to their own advantage. Soon, the world was reduced to a barren wasteland of war. The people inhabiting it desired peace more than anything else, but none knew what it was. It wasn't until after the last bomb went off and the smoke cleared and the last man alive stood alone at the end of the world, fell to his knees and cried, that the word had any meaning.
This was once a piece about war, but the canvas was much too small for anything more than a summary.

wouldn't it be interesting to be fighting a war with people just like you, but with the politicians dead?
The only way to get rid of evil is to wipe the slate completely clean. People have a mind-set on peace but they will never achieve it until that carnal urge to defeat diminishes. We go to war to find a winner, but everyone loses all the same; it's just killing to kill now, and that's what's truly evil. If only everyone saw that clearly.
