It is sad but true, that minorities can exert great power over majorities by whining. In this general context (religious conflict), the cause is religion, and the effect is conflict. It is difficult, actually, to think of a problem that the abolition of religion wouldn't solve. But I am not one to oppress so, alas, people continue to enslave themselves to a doctrine. It is the ultimate cause, it gives meaning to their life. One can become addicted to it. The only issue is when it begins to have an effect on the surrounding people.

In my opinion, freedom of religion is a private freedom and, therefore, does not have a place in public institutions (i.e. schools that aren't funded by taxation). Missionaries don't try to brainwash people in schools, schools are not terrorist cells. The ideal school should be a safe, comfortable learning environment. But where is the line drawn? Is wearing a Santa Claus hat considered overtly religious?

In my opinion whoever complained should just shut the fuck up. I highly, highly doubt that a Santa Claus hat is offensive to them. If it's so offensive, what are they going to do about all the other santa references in places not collectively owned by the public (Wal-Mart)? Nothing, they are simply taking advantage of power they happen to have! Christianity may be a thorn in the side of Amerika (or perhaps some sort of sadomasochistic torture device), but it doesn't help to be a whiny asshole about it. In fact, I bet the hat wasn't even related to Christianity. I bet it was just a conical red hat with a puffy white thing.

But let me refocus. What is the root of the problem here? The hat. Although I extremely dislike whining, it was the responsibility of the bus driver to not bring religion into a public place. Religion is generally incompatable, especially religions from the same origin (Abrahamic religions)! Since we can't work together, we have to divide. But when it comes to education, we should be neutral. So please, be responsible. Only by personal virtue can we at least overcome religious provocation. I would simply love to discuss the discrimination of Christian Christmas Carols with whoever is in charge of making people sing Kwanza songs and Chanukah songs.

I'm tired of sounding professional. I know there are spelling errors.

LIKE THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN. THE WORLD IS FUCKING CORRUPT. DEAL WITH IT, MOTHERFUCKERS, IT'S NOT GONNA GO AWAY.

I would like to conclude by asking you, staciaisonfirex33, to not sing any songs in school, to practice your religion privately and tell your teachers that you refuse to sing African and Hebrew Carols, because it violates the seperation of Church and State.

i don't care what anyone says, the world CAN stop being corrupt. is just the laziness of the world and the apathy; that's why we are corrupt. we have loss of what we really want in our minds, and it's ridiculous that we won't fight for what we want. if you want a corrupt world, then continue what you're doing. if you don't, then i'm just one person and i can't change it myself.

that was my comment

and maybe you are right but don't disrespect the opinions of others. making a whole page just to reply to another's peice must feel really low, and it's people like you who take away the purpose of indyfluency. and that purpose is freedom to write, and if you didn't read the homepage, it says "if you don't like this stuff, there's that little x on the top of the page". take that into consideration before you turn into a complete asshole

Not to sound like a complete ass [wow, a trend?], but I think freedom to write sorta goes for everyone, including sold. He had as much of a right to post this as staciaisonfirex33 had to post his [her?] point. Please take your own words into consideration.

Also, it didn't really sound like Sold was completely disagreeing with staciaisonfirex33. Simply embellishing on the point already made and bringing up another viewpoint.

As far as I can tell, there's no real disrespect going on here.

inthecafeteria... you... whatever... you hit it right on.

I considered posting this on the forums, but I didn't think that was direct enough.

razzle... I'm really sorry for exploding, but I'm not going to take the piece down or anything. What I said was just a jumbled and less polished way of saying what I mean. It came out at a point when I was very emotional, angrily so.

after not reviewing this comment.. I'm going to make a thread and finish by saying that I am working for what I want.

"THE WORLD IS FUCKING CORRUPT. DEAL WITH IT, MOTHERFUCKERS, IT'S NOT GONNA GO AWAY."

I think its supposed to say :

"THE WORLD IS FUCKING CORRUPT. DON'T DEAL WITH IT, MOTHERFUCKERS, MAKE IT GO AWAY"

If you believe in something enough to actually try and make it go away, than it can. Saying something can't and won't change is just saying you don't mind to much that it exists, or that you are doubting your own power as a human being. I am sometimes weak and do exactly this, and thats part of the reason I hate myself. This is my life, and if conforming is the only way to live then, there is no fucking reason to live it.
