If I was your organ,
Would you play my solemn strings?
Tapping on my dusty keys
As chanteuse lights
Of waking spring
Bloom around us;
Always throbbing symphonies
To wilt beneath an early eve
And as I crawled beneath your skin
To clutch your tender pulse
You could never hurt me
Without yourself too feeling lost.
If I was your organ
These tender notes would be our dawn
You’d cut me, yet you too would sting
And bleed a chord of married scorn
Throughout each verse.
Loyal still,
And never weak
I’d nurse our song to scald your hearse
A force to combat
Every curse
I could be your antidote
Spilling over everything
Curing you with every note
Oh,
Say you’d play my solemn strings.
