If I were a pen,

I'm not sure what I'd be.

       maybe a pen

       that beats the shit out of the other pens in the cup, no...

       that's not who I am.

I'm the shy pen in the front row of desks.

the pen, your best friend.

You and I became punk rockers

in high school.

We'd go out and get sammichs

       at the local grocery store

       in the morning

       every day.

Then we separated,

went to separate colleges,

but still stayed together.

We both became hipsters, separately.

We still drink tea all the fucking time.

and though, you still drink more than me,

we're both now alcoholics.

and though, you started smoking before me,

we're both now stoners.

So, I'm not sure which pen I'd be.

But I'm sure it'd be pretty similar to yours.
