untitled
they build highways, streets and cars
where once stood nature, pure
they post up signs on the shoulder of the road
a thin sheet of metal, a glossy coat
just to say "Don't Litter".
don't pollute our air- with your marijuana smoke
Don't dirty up our seas- buy a parking pass or you'll have to leave
Don't corrupt young minds- profanity in public, son that's a hefty fine
define litter, mr. congressmen. the destruction of scenic view?
the tractor trailer hauling coal and gas? the emissions and the fumes?
three story houses and 6 acre lawns just cuz some one had cash to spare?
maybe keep out signs meant for the homeless,
eating dumpster remnants of last nights feast over there?
So now you're going to fine someone for a wrapper thrown to the ground
i'm not saying i think that they're ok
but is YOUR logic sound?
the government supports gasoline, strip malls and miles of concrete
they're not pushing alternative energy, solar power or better systems for this new age
and they won't hesitate to strip down the trees to build a bank.
so i have to question
how much they really care
if maybe it's more about power
then keeping the air we breathe clear?
meanwhile and just 15
a night in jail, 6 months probation
for public property vandalization
when authorities see a kid and a can of paint
first response is just to hate
maintenance was gonna paint that side off white and cream
and this graffiti is gonna leave a stain
mr. congressman, tell me, what about the tagging do you hate?
do the messages offend? do they ring true?
or is it just a clashing hue?
personally i think a little color's just what we all need
to see a different side of things
and bring a much needed sense of community
to a place so developed, there's nothing to see
it's mass delusion of reality,
that the way we're run is fair.
that litter means a wrapper
but they'll build malls anywhere.
it's mass delusion of reality,
that alcohol is legal
but cancer patients suffer still
because pot's considered lethal.
Two others like this.

tis a great message but i feel like the form could use a little help ...either that or i need to go back and read it as prosetry instead of poetry...
Hey, what's wrong with marijuana smoke? that stuff has vitamins and minerals in it. Tobacco smoke is the evil one.
you're definitely right about the form. like i said, it's pretty rough. i just got the idea and started wrting/rhyming. when i get bored enough i'll probably fix it up so it flows a little better
