Our tongue.

untitled
Remember when our hearts were young?
We felt the laughter from their tongue.
Speaking only truth.
Speaking all the words they knew
Now our hearts are tired
Begging us for one more chance
And tiresomely they laugh or choke
A laugh that echoes only once
To remember those words,
The words of truth that they once smiled
My aged heart pleads for one more chance
To fill your heart with butterflies.
I want to stop your heart from crying
Why did our hearts begin to cry?
We always told the truth, I’m sure
Did we?
We said the things we knew.
When did we stop laughing?
I can’t remember why we lied
But I just can’t forget our laughing hearts
So help me, please and say you’ll try;
Amber, remember when out hearts were young?
And laughter echoed from their tongues
Speaking only truth
I said the only words I knew
The words that sound like I love you
Our hearts laughed.
