untitled
Forlorn nature of being
scared of the future and
of the past
now in the present what is there?
On the air is twee music with
soft guitars
whisper boy girl vocals
baroque strings
time is of no essence
the quintessential nature of being
becomes human
two old men bicker
about nothing silence is not
a comfort here silence is not
acknowledgement silence is not
for them
against a blackness with the stars
shine eternally they do not move
the men don’t move
just drink champagne
becoming conductors of
acoustical resonance
baroque twee not of the
chamber variety not
twee even Janet Baker singing
Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen
it all sounds so ephemeral
mystical logical
all things connect here
in this finale all thing
connect here
in this life
I am warm from medicine
I am warm from nature
I am warm from life
lying in this bed watching these
men in their years not
being forgotten in the
avant-garde they are still here
with everything else
the young absorb
the old into what Jung called
the collective unconscious
What I feel now
in this bed is not
the warmth of medicine
the warmth of nature
the warmth of life
what I feel now is
everything
suffering and bliss
self and society
samsara and nirvana
sanctified by God and by
humanity and by
self
the idea of becoming
a conductor of
acoustical resonance
seems ideal
