untitled

Our friend and teacher Socrates is being charged with such a fate that shan't we come to his defense his life may well be done. They say that he corrupts the youth and of dogma does not care but Socrates exalts the mind and Gods, he all but shun. Recall to mind the prophecy of which the Oracle spake. “None is wiser than Socrates.” But Socrates sought the truth. He was too wise to claim avail so he questioned Athenian men. He asked them of their wisdom and knowledge of virtue. Finding “wise” men know nothing from this Socrates elicits reason. He knows that Socrates does not know and thus this makes him wise. But the “wise” men took to anger and made a threat upon his life and so we are in court today defending him from lies. See friends, our friend is much in need. He deems that he is not of err. and so will not defend himself lest he sink or swim. But even though you and I know him not at fault The court, it may not realize this. And so we must defend him.

It is a different, and maybe kind of awkward rhyme scheme, but it does indeed rhyme.

And I really like it. I was actually kinda excited because I really like Socrates. This is a nice homage to him. The wording in some areas is a little awkward, and I'm not sure the rhyme scheme is working too well, but I really like the concept behind it and I understand this is a difficult medium to work in. I can dig it.
