They Say

untitled
They say to me that I’m just a child,
No more than a pretty smile,
Much less than those more powerful,
And in no way I am honorable.
They say that freedom’s never free,
So the price is war and killing sprees,
And what they always fail to mention;
Killing’s the same, no matter the intention.
They say I’m stubborn, they say I’m wrong,
Never said I’m kind or strong.
From friendliness, they tend to stray,
The right way’s not the easy way.
They say I don’t know what love is,
That love ain’t real between two kids.
But they speed off in a way much worse,
One day they’re married, the next, divorced.
But,
I wouldn’t be half of what I am today,
If I ever listened to the words they say.
Eleven others like this.
