Headphones or Speakers?

What are your opinions on this.. I am too tired to really think about it, but I think I would go with speakers. I will explain later, but one good reason is that people can't sneak up on you as easily.

when they? Have I become multiple people?

No. I'm just scared of being literally stabbed in the back.

Also, headphones are annoying, and sometimes people forget them.

Also you lose like ..80% of what you hear in a live performance in mp3s. According to my old music teacher, who may have been lying. Which is why I like records and more solid forms of.. uh.. music recordings?

Ipods are convenient though.

Well FINE.

I love how we're getting credit (in the form of post counts) by posting what we could talk about in the chatterBOX

But this way people can be amazed by our conversation skills, and we keep the forum alive.

And we make neoeno happy!

Allow me to totally break up this outlandish, yet epic battle of wits that would otherwise encompass the universe and cause a cataclysmic chain of events that would destroy all the stars in the known universe by stating that I mostly prefer speakers.

Now, really, I do like headphones, but I only ever use them in situations where other people are around and obviously don't want to listen to my music [such as long car rides in which I'm not driving or my parents are in the car].  I haven't gone through the effort to buy decent headphones, so I'm stuck with really crappy cheap ones that I've had for years, and they happen to suck, so I can't say I've had overwhelmingly positive experience with headphones, though I will admit that, if I were to be given a quality pair of headphones, I might be swayed in their favor.

I'm with ITC to an extent. I prefer speakers, but I use headphones when others are around.

I agree.

Do you have a subwoofer with your speakers? It makes listening to Bob Marley and the Wailers twice the fun.

I'm a speakers girl. However, it's nice to listen to ambient late at night with headphones. You hear so much more.

The only subwoofer I have is for my computer, and I do like it.  The only problem is we have it set up ON the desk, whereas I would prefer it on or near the floor, but whatever.

And yes, conventional techno is next to nothing without the bass.  Conventional techno.

Which arises a question, and I apologize for slightly vearing from the initial topic, but exactly how many sub-genres of techno are there?

What is techno?  :-\ ???

btw these smileys are terrible - they're almost as bad as anime.

Modification: In how they express emotions.
