so yesterday was kind of a gigantic day of suck.
I was biking to my 8am class when I found a guy curled up on the side of the road bleeding. He'd been biking to class and been hit by a car about 5 minutes earlier. It was a hit-and-run so I was the first person to actually try to help him. I didn't have my phone on me (urgh!) but I ended up flagging down a woman who called 911 and I peaced once the paramedics arrived, though I left my number in case of.. whatever. I made it through my first class fine and then the popo called me for more information for their report during my 9:25 class. They told me this kid was seriously injured and that he was being lifeflight-ed to Duke Medical. I was basically a wreck for several hours and actually skipped a class and a half because I pretty much couldn't stop crying, which was a bit ridiculous, but such is life.
So turns out this kid is an exchange student from Afghanistan and the person who hit him actually got out of the car, looked at him and then drove away, which is why this story is in the pissed off thread and not the sobbing one, cause I definitely did enough of that. Cause that is crazy sorts of notcool. Like, are you sure you're even human (but then... of course you are) kind of notcool.
edit: this morning they arrested the person who hit him. Huzzah.
