I believe everything effects everyone personally. Maybe not physically but, emotionally, hell yes.

Honestly, I would dislike George Bush the same if I lived in any other country. And, what is a country? People living in Toronto are closer to Washington D.C. than People in California. When it comes down to it, aren't I allowed to be angry at a dictator is some other country that treats their people like shit? Well, yes, I can empathize.

Nowadays, I can't take any liquids on any plane without being considered a terrorist, or at the best, being hassled into missing my flight. I'm growing a beard, and I'm wondering what they'd do to me at the airport because of it. Brussels, our dear capital, which houses the European Parliament and several international institutions - UN, NATO - is a target on terrorist hitlists now. Extreme right-wing ideologies are taking over my country as a direct result. And "my" representatives in parliament and senate don't have either the guts or the power to do something about it all. Same with the UK. Germany. France. Spain. The Netherlands. Italy. Bushhumpers have taken over Europe; just because your TV serves you images of war protesters - funny sidenote: I've been arrested for "insulting a friendly head of state" at one of these - doesn't mean our decision-makers are on the same page as us.

So yes, all in all I do believe I'm personally affected by another country's poor excuse of a president. What he does affects the whole world, that's just how it is.
