Oh my!

It's amazing how words I can't understand or begin to pronounce affect me.

Ha merci, 'k hoor da wel meer, dus, misschien as 'k een poging tot gestandaardiseerd Vlaams doe (aloewel da nie bestaat), da ge mij dan gelooft? :P

Translation: "Oh thanks, I hear that (= "galantee, I don't believe you. English is so your mothertongue.") a lot, so, maybe if I make an attempt at standardized Flemish (although that doesn't exist), that you then believe me?"

English and Dutch/Flemish are actually remarkably alike, come to think of it.

hah. i take latin. which only like a dozen people in the world speak. huzzah, huzzah.
English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark allies, knocks them over, and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

My issue with being French is that I am overly formal with my English. So, when I write, I actually write everything formally, then determine where each speaker is from and alter the language from that point on. It sounds backwards, but that is seriously the only way I can work.

I also enlist people to ensure that everything I write makes sense. I once used Barbu in a sentence that made no sense in english at all. Haha.

Also, necro-thread. BAM
